We took some Christmas pictures yesterday -- I had to bribe Jake to be in some of them, but they turned out SO cute!  (more of these pics later.)

if you really look, you can see that this is a "doctoring" of two photos into one.  Jake was only smiling in one, and the girls and I looked goofy in that one.  Ah, gotta love Photoshop.

Walden Farm (for the 3rd time!)

Priscilla and I took the kids to Walden Farm yesterday (for the third year in a row!), and it was SO FUN.  Here are the highlights:

Happy Birthday, Chicka!

Today is Aowyn's third birthday!  This is me, Aowyn, and Zoe a few weeks ago at Zoe's bday party.  We had a small party for Aowyn last night at my mom's house -- and I forgot the present I bought her a month ago (because I'm a genius.)  Ah, well . . . she'll get it eventually.  :)

Church Family Portrait

On Easter after services our church did a portrait of all the members.  I think it's pretty cool!

(The photo is on our church's website, so I feel ok about posting it on the net.  Anyway, you can't really see anyone's faces clearly.  LOL!)

See through the advertising rouse

Jake and I were at a gas station the other day and I let him pick out some Sprite . . . Jake looked at the wrapper thing and saw a basketball player on it. 

He said "Mom, is Sprite for really big tall boys?" 

I said "Yes, and they drink it before they play basketball . . . Or so they'd like you to believe." 

ha ha ha. 

ok, only I thought it was funny.

Pumpkin Farm!

I figured a good way to wish you all a Happy Halloween is to show you our pictures from the pumpkin farm!  We went last year, and had a really good time -- so now no fall season is complete without a trip to Walden Farm!  It's just a few miles from my house, and the drive was really pretty.  And I got to enjoy it, because Priscilla was driving.  LOL.

I took the three older kids on the tractor ride while Priscilla waited with the stroller and the baby.  The picture from the van of us facing out to no road?  Long story.  (Priscilla is the best driver ever.  Really.)

If I would have let him, Jake would have ridden on that red tractor FOREVER.  And the kids with their hands on the car?  That's how I make sure the kids stay safe and right next to me when I'm getting stuff out of the car.  It works pretty well.  LOL.

For Sue

Our good friend Sue recently commented about her daughter's hair, "I have absolutely no idea what to do with that wispy, long hair :)  She usually ends up looking like a crazy professor or has a charming comb-over."  So Sue, darling, here's that answer I promised you!

Pizza Party

Last Friday we had a pizza party at mom's house with Priscilla -- partially because mom hadn't seen the girls in a while, partially because mom had some coupons for pizza.  (Hey, any excuse we can find!)  Kathy was able to be there for a while, too, before leaving for work at 9.

July 28th

Yeah, so I'm behind.

Had to post some of our photo shoot from end of July.  Lorien at 4.5 months old.  And then a bonus random pic of Jake and Elauna.  LOL.

The girls

Last Thursday Priscilla and the girls came over, since I was leaving Friday morning for Indiana.  (We try to hang out at least once a week.)  I got some pretty cute pictures!

 

I was holding Lorien, and the week before I had told Priscilla "I swear this is how big Jake was at 6 weeks."  Priscilla said (proudly) "She's finally up to 12 pounds!"  I checked Jake's baby book, and sure enough -- at 6 weeks he was 12 pounds, 4 ounces.  (Yes, we are giants.)  Lorien is FIVE MONTHS OLD already!  Sheesh!  She's such a funny, sweet baby -- she laughs and giggles and it's SO funny.  She's pretty content, too -- she let me hold her for quite a while.  She wanted to jump and squirm around, but was fine sitting with me.

Want to see what happens when you let two 3 year olds have free reign upstairs?  (click on image to view larger.)  Priscilla and I just wanted to sit and talk, and that's easier dealing with 2 children, rather than 4.  Jake and Elauna really wanted to go play in Jake's room, so we let them.  I always keep Jake's room spotless -- ALL the toys are right where they go and he has a lot of open space in the middle of the room.  We kept hearing them upstairs giggling and thumping around -- jumping off the bed, no doubt -- and we kept asking them what they were doing.  At one point, Jake said they were playing with "the stuffed up animals you sleep with."  They had taken as many little toys from the closet door as they could reach, had puzzles everywhere, had a basket bookshelf all taken apart, took all the blankets and pillows off the bed . . .  I didn't see the room until later that night, and I just shut the door to deal with it when we got back.  Crazy kids.
