Ok, here are the books/music/movies/TV things I'm thinking about these days.
I'm listening to Anna Nalick's "Wreck of the Day" CD again. I listened to it non-stop last summer. Like seriously, non-stop. For like 3 months. It's good stuff. Her stuff NEVER gets old. Great for singing along in the car. And she wrote it all herself. And she basically kicks ass. heh. You probably know the "Breathe 2 AM" song, which was featured last year on Grey's Anatomy. My favorites are "Paper Bag" and "Wreck of the Day." Anna, you rock my world.
TV shows: obviously, I am SO FREAKING GLAD that there are new episodes of Grey's and The Office this week. If you want to see something BEYOND FUNNY, watch this preview of The Office. Of course, if you've never seen The Office, it might not make sense. But still hecka-hilarious.
Speaking of The Office, Lou is taking me this Friday to see Blades of Glory, which the lovely Jenna Fisher is in. (Have I mentioned before that she's my hero? She so rocks.) Lou thinks it's going to be stupid, because he doesn't like Will Ferrell (I LOVE Will Ferrell. He totally cracks me up. Priscilla and I saw "Stranger than Fiction" two weeks ago and I loved it and she hated it. She has a lot in common with Lou as far as taste in movies goes. Scary.) But Lou is putting up with it because I really want to see the movie. So YAY!
Oh, and back to TV shows: HOW AWESOME is Melinda on American Idol? She made me laugh so hard last Wednesday when she sat down on stage rather than pick which group of 3 was the bottom or top. I haven't watched the show faithfully . . . umm, ever . . . but having someone you know on the show is pretty good incentive. Jordin is also rocking my world -- she's made me cry with her song two weeks in a row now.
Last, a great book that I bought randomly this weekend and read in one sitting: Bitter is the New Black. (LOVE the subtitle: Confessions of a Condescending, Egomaniacal, Self-Centered Smartass, Or, Why You Should Never Carry a Prada Bag to the Unemployment Office. HA HA HA!) It was SO FUNNY. But even more than that, it's a really interesting commentary on how someone who has a college degree and mad crazy business skills can search desperately for a job for almost two years after being laid off in the post 9-11 economy, and get NOTHIN'. Made me feel better about myself in that respect. heh. But seriously, a GREAT book -- and her website is hilarious, too.
