My mom decided we are giving Zoe a scrapbook this year for her birthday.  And when she says "we," she means that I am going to make a bunch of pages and get them printed.  :)  But it's ok -- I've kind of been meaning to anyway.

Days gone by

Kat was down this past weekend for a visit, but I have yet to get mom's pictures.  So here's an old picture until I get my act together.  :)

Poor me

No, seriously.  Poor me.  Between a doctor's visit and 3 medications, I spent $100 yesterday.

I woke up Friday with an obvious sinus infection.  Out of nowhere.  I'd been doing so good since my LAST sickness over Memorial Day, have been taking allergy pills every night to keep everything running properly.  But a LOT of people have gotten sick around here lately -- maybe the crazy hot weather?  I don't know.  I spent the weekend dealing with painful sinus pressure and blowing my nose a ton, then Sunday some chest congestion started.  Goody!  An upper respiratory infection again!

And to top it off, I got my mom AND my husband sick.

I went to the doctor yesterday, ended up with a steriod shot AND an antibiotic starter shot in my . . . ahem . . . hip.  Yeah, sure, it was my hip.  The steriod shot ended up keeping me up all night.  All.  freaking.  night.  I finally gave up on sleeping in bed at midnight, then laid on the couch until I heard Lou at like 5 getting ready for work.  But it was kind of a restful non-sleep, so I've been ok today working.  Still sucked, though.

Anyway . . . that's what I've been up to the past few days.  :)

MAN, that was fun!

Ryan turned 5 last month, but they were on vacation so we had the birthday party yesterday.  Jen (umm, the OTHER Jen.  Ryan's mom) rented a bouncy water slide thing, and holy cow, that thing rocked.  I was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, and I went down it like 5 times with the kids.  (Jake got a huge kick out of that, LOL.)  It was a very fun party, but I totally got sunburned -- it was SO hot yesterday!!!  But Jake had a great time, and that's what matters.

VBS

This summer the church where Jake went to Mother's Day Out last year had a week of VBS, and we sent the kids (Jake and Elauna.)  It was every day for a week, then on Sunday (July 15th) the kids from VBS lead the worship service.  Like, the WHOLE service.  We decided to skip driving into town to our church for one Sunday and go to this one so Jake could participate (even though he said he didn't want to.)  It was SO cute.  Jake did awesome staying with his class and being good, although he wouldn't let go of Tiger.  He was so funny, trying to do the hand motions with a stuffed animal under his arm.  But it was really cute, and truth be told I was a little shocked that he got through the whole service.  Yup, I'm very very proud.
