- Jake and I somehow got on the subject of binoculars yesterday, and I mentioned that as I child I took my dad's binoculars so often, he just bought me my own pair. Excited, he asked "Do you still have them?" I told him I don't know what ever happened to them. So Jake said he wanted his own pair, then thought for a moment and added "But real ones. Not a toy."
- Jake is developing an ATTITUDE. He's so sweet one minute, then completely turns the next. When he gets mad at my mom now, he says "I don't like you anymore! I'm never coming here again." (To which I reply "Yeah, well you're going there every time I have to work, which is FIVE DAYS A WEEK!")
- And speaking of work . . . wow . . . Priscilla and the kids stopped by my house yesterday when I was still at work, and the kids asked where I was. Priscilla told them I was at work still, and Elauna replied "But girls don't work!" Dang, that's funny.
- Jake and I were watching LazyTown together, and one of the episodes begins with Sportacus bungee-jumping from his air ship, because *gasp* he was out of apples. So I laughed and said "No way, he's bungee-jumping!" Jake asked what that was, and I said "What Sportacus is doing right now." Jake said "I love bungee-jumping!" I said "You do?" He said "Yes. I would bungee-jump all the time if I lived in an air ship." HA HA. I would love an air ship like Sportacus has. Of course, I'd also love to be able to do back-flips and the splits like he does, but I don't see any of those things happening any time soon.
- OH! and last night we were outside on my swing, and Jake randomly told me "Mama, when you tell me you love me, I'll always say 'I love you, too,' because I do." SO SWEET! Lou came in from a bike ride soon after that and joined us outside. Jake said "Mama, is daddy gonna grill again? I want him to grill!" Then when we were inside, Jake told Lou "You need to go buy more corn so I can shuck it."
- The ants have made their move to invade the house (a little late in the year, guys -- is your calendar off?) and Lou is working hard to fight back. They seriously do this every freaking year. Jake saw Lou with a bunch of chemicals and sprays and I had to explain what he was doing. Then Jake told Lou "There are some ants over here, too!" Lou said "Ok, I'll spray them." And Jake said "Ok, I'll show you how." HA HA. I love the confidence that kid has.
