Jake is seriously hilarious. I wish I could remember half of the things he says, they totally crack me up.
On Saturday my mom came over for dinner and to see Jake's new playground. (Sidenote: my husband is an AWESOME cook!!!) As she was leaving, Jake said he wanted her to stay and to spend the night. He said "But she hasn't spent the night here in YEARS!" (And actually, that's true. She lives 6 miles away -- why would she?) But she had to go home to take care of the dog . . . so Jake went with her! I love when he spends the night at Nana's. LOL. (He's been refusing to lately, which I personally blame on Kathy for moving to Indiana, because it upset his world. Thanks, Kat.) He tells me that he can't stay the night at Nana's anymore, because in his words: "I'm YOUR baby. I always have to stay with YOU. I'm going to stay with you forever -- for A HUNDRED years."
And once again, I was wearing a tank top this weekend (oh, the horror . . .) and Jake took one look at me and said "You need something with SLEEVES!"
One morning last week when Jake was ready for breakfast, my mom asked him if he'd like some Kix. He replied "No, but I'll have eggs, sausage, pancakes, and noodles." HA HA! Mom said no to the noodles (my kid LOVES Ramen noodles), but made him all the others. Spoiled! (Ah, well . . . he has to eat something!)
The other night on the backyard swing:
"Mama, I love you the whole world."
"Yeah? Well I love you the whole universe."
"What's a universe?"
"The Earth and all the planets and their moons and the sun and the stars."
"Oh."
(pause)
"Mama, I love you the whole universe and all the sidewalks and roads."
Aaah, I love that last one - kids his age are SO literal!
I hollered down the hall to Liah yesterday and asked her if the wipes were in my bedroom. She comes in with a puzzled face and said "no, but the colors are..." (I had laundry sorted in the bedroom and she thought I was looking the load of WHITES, lol)!
