We were in Indiana for a long weekend and came home on Monday. Mid-way through Kentucky, we came across a major traffic jam, and eventually got around it by getting off at a rest-stop exit and then getting back on the interstate. The accident had happened right next to the rest stop. As we passed, on the interstate we saw a VERY crushed car (with a tarp over it, so we suspected someone had died), a jack-knifed semi, and a few others with fender benders. Our theory was that the semi had crossed the median and hit the car, but I see from this traffic report that it was the other way around. So very sad. And it REALLY makes you realize how important it is when you're driving to leave PLENTY of room between you and the car you are following, so that you have time to slow down in case something random and tragic like this happens.
