I think that every person in every college campus across the country is talking today about what happened yesterday in Virginia. Any school, for that matter. I know that a lot of policies and communication issues are going to be revisited. How do we plan for reacting to something like that? It's so sad that we have to. My heart is broken for everyone involved in Virginia, and for the fact that the world we live in can be so broken and ugly.

I thought of you yesterday. It is heartbreaking. So tragic.
We have 5 alums there - all ok. One of our current students was doing her college visit there. She was staying in the dorm next door to the 1st shootings, and heard them - thought they were construction sounds. She told our principal that when they saw from their dorm window students bring the RA and girl out to meet medical and police that something worse happened.
It is so, so, tragic. Our world is scary....we just have to be lights for each other.
