Just now Jake made some ice water, then sat eating it with a spoon. (You mean YOUR kid doesn't do that at 9:30 at night?) Here is literally some of his ramblings as he sat there and ate it:
"I made ice soup. It's very yummy for you. It helps you grow up. You should make some ice soup. You just put water first, then put ice on it. That's how you make ice soup. Lots of water first. Ice cubes. Put water and put ice cubes on it. That's how you make ice soup. Ice soup is good for you. Try it. But this is good! It's good for kids."
Then he help up his spoon and said "Look! I caught an ice cube." And I said "Oh, did you find it swimming in the soup?" And he said "It's just pretend soup." Well duh, mom.
Earlier, he was running around the living room, making a pile of things he thinks we should take on our "vacation." I said "Jake, we're not leaving for two days. Let's wait and pack tomorrow." And he asked "Is today tomorrow?"
Then, holding a Star Wars car that turns into a plane, he asked "Are we going on a plane?" "No, Jake, we're just going to Kentucky. We're driving." And he said "But THIS car flies!" Heh.
Oh, and when he used to ask me a question and I said "I don't know," he'd reply cutely "Tell Jakey." Now he demands sternly, "Tell me!"
