I've been in the office answering phone calls and e-mails since 8 a.m. (SO nice to come in at 8 instead of 7 and to fight Saturday traffic instead of week-day! It's my one day of the year for over-time. Woo hoo, extra money!) It's been fairly slow, but steady with calls and people coming in and out of the office. So we now have another crop of students here, ready to start the new year. My favorite part is seeing the random fashion trends the girls bring to campus. The 80's seem to be back . . . oh great.
At 2 p.m. I'm going to Zoe's birthday party. Hopefully it will be better than last year when it was just me, mom, Jake, and all Zoe's dad's friends from divinity school. I don't know if you've had much interaction with people studying for their master's or doctorate, but this group of people were pompous, self-important, loud, and totally random. Oh, and rude. Yeah, let's hope for better this time.
Also, I had time to make a layout of my favorite pictures of Aowyn from last week's pizza party. I had a new kit for a creative team I needed to use -- I was actually happy to get a pink, girly kit, because I really wanted to play with these pictures! I've decided since I use her pictures so much, I'm honestly going to start an entire album just for Aowyn. That will make her feel special, eh? I know I always liked visiting relatives and seeing pictures of ME on their wall. Same concept, right? :)
