That's right, folks. As of yesterday, we are members.
Working out 4 times a week on the treadmill for almost 4 months has literally done NOTHING for me. (I'm more in shape, yes -- like I'm not falling down ready to die after a workout, so that's nice -- but haven't lost ANY FREAKING WEIGHT.) It's obvious to me that I am going to have to step it up.
Plus, Lou is dealing with stress fractures in both legs and can only bike and swim for exercise. Biking, obviously, he does at work. Swimming? We don't have a pool, but the Y does. Good deal.
Also, I want to be able to take Jake swimming this summer. Heck, even this spring. Maybe tonight. Aunt Julie sold her house with the kick-ass pool, so now we have no one to mooch off of. ha ha ha ha! Just kidding. Here's how crazy Jake's memory is -- we haven't been to their pool since last summer. I told Jake we would go swimming soon at the Y, pointing to the building as we drove by -- and he said "No. I don't want to go there. I want to go to Jooooooooo-lie's house." wow.
Crap, now I have to find a bathing suit.

We've been looking at our local Y for a family membership ourselves. I want Zack to start "working out". (He's 105 lbs on a 5'2" frame -- needs to bulk up a little). Good luck!
