Yesterday was a wonderful day. Jake and I slept in, had lunch with my dad at Fizouli's, stopped by the Dollar Store while we were over there, for stickers and wrapping paper (for Jake to play with.) Then we went to the library for a while and Jake had a blast playing with the toys and books there. Then home for a quick nap, then on to Ryan's house to play while I had a piano lesson with Alexis. That evening I literally sat/laid on the kitchen floor for an hour with Jake and we colored with crayons and markers.
Today? We slept in a bit, stressed out about getting out the door because Jake was tired and whiny. Drove 12 miles south east to get to Priscilla's (yeah, my work is north west from us) and she is watching him today while I work 2/3 of the day. Long drive back to my starting point, then on in to work. (so 44 miles total, just to get here.) There were detours set up all around campus because of some utility work so I had to drive WAY out of the way, there were NO spaces open in the parking garage (I drove around through all 7 levels), so I had to park far away on the street, AND waiting for me at work was a butt-load of paperwork and e-mails. I have a headache and I'm bitchy today and it's freaking hard coming back to work after having a day like yesterday. I'm feeling so BLAH about work lately, and I'm not sure how to get over it. So . . . yeah.

Sorry you are feeling so blah about having to work lately. Treasure the time you're spending with Jake on the days that you are able to spend the day with him. Sounds like you already got a head start on yesterday's time with him.

I hear you on that one. I'm completely bored at work and distracted and have no interest...actually my performance is suffering because of it. I think it's burn out. I may go back to waitressing & tending bar. Same money, less investment.

Hope today is better. Makes it pretty hard to want to be there when you've got one as cute and sweet as Jake. Enjoy your time with him.
