A lot of times I don't write about hanging out with Priscilla, because it would get redundant. We hang out at least once a week, if not 2 or 3 times -- so most of the time I just chalk it up to life as usual.
She DID do me a huge favor, though, last Saturday. Lou's cousin Roger is getting married in a few weeks and they had a "couples bridal shower." (Basically a party we brought presents to. Good times.) The party was to be outside in the backyard (you know, the place where that cool pool is?) and there was NO way I was going to fight Jake all evening about not jumping in the pool. (And let's be honest. He would have jumped in, just like last year.) My mom was coming with us to the party -- in-laws are pretty much just considered family with Lou's family, which is nice -- so I needed a baby-sitter. Priscilla, brave soul that she is, brought her two girls over (plus the peanut in her belly -- she's finally given me permission to share this fact) and corralled all three and a half kids. (Well, let's consider the newest one to be 1/3 of a kid, since he/she is very very small right now.)
Saturday morning I told Jake about what would happen that evening, and all day long he told me he was going to cry and that I couldn't go. True to his form, when I tried to leave he barrelled down the hallway after me, screaming his head off. That morning he'd had a bad bloody nose, and as soon as we arrived at the party in M'boro, P called me on my cell phone to let me know Jake had another bloody nose. She'd never dealt with a bloody nose before, so I stood there in the doorway of Roger and Julie's house trying to trouble-shoot the situation over the phone. Luckily, the REST of the night went very smoothly for her and Jake actually behaved pretty well.
I was happily surprised to see that Lou's aunt and cousins had come to the party (Uncle David's family, the older daughter Jessica got married last month.) It was a lot of fun to hang out with them and actually get to know her new husband a bit! He is REALLY funny -- has a hilarious sense of humor which actually reminds Lou and I of David. The party had wonderful food, R&B got lots of presents, and we were some of the first people to leave (we wanted to get home before 9. We stayed for like 2 hours.)
When we got home Jake had himself a nice little breakdown. Ever since then -- this WHOLE past week, every. single. day. -- he has told me "I missed you at the party. I cried." LOL. He is SO goofy!
Last night Priscilla and I and the 3 and 1/3 kids of ours all went to M'boro to use our Carter's coupons. (They are having a great sale right now and if you want the coupon, e-mail me!) We had a lot of fun shopping, Jake and Lana played in the little kid's play room (brilliant! Jake loves that place. He asks me all the time if we can to go "Cah-tuhs" so we can play.) We pushed Aowyn around in a stroller -- that kid is standing up and thinking about walking! Her birthday is a month from yesterday! We got some cute stuff, stopped by Chic-Fil-A for lemonade and chicken, then on to Party City. I am planning AHEAD this year for Jake's party. He really wanted a dog party, but we couldn't find any dog stuff. We DID, however, find some Spiderman stuff, and Jake's excited to be having a "Pie-dah-mann" party, complete with "Pup-takes" (cupcakes.) I bought his present a month ago, so I am pretty much ready for his party (Sept. 12th bday, Sept 17th party.) Then we drove home because I was pretty worn out. They came over Thursday night, too, but I was HORRIBLE company -- at one point completely zoning out to the point P had to ask me if I was ok! I have been doing too much lately and need to get more sleep! My poor brain just can't keep up!
Ok, there's my catch-up (kind of) from the past week. Sorry no pictures, I left my camera at home for the party (I think subconsciously I did it on purpose so I wouldn't have to deal with it! All the people that were there that I wanted pictures of, I saw at the wedding a few weeks ago!)
