My child is so weird. Beautiful, lovable, and sweet, yes -- but weird.
Ya know how for the longest time he has been refusing to look at me and smile a normal smile for a picture? He'll either look down, look sideways, frown, give me a cheesy grin, anything but what I'm going for -- and that is to capture the sweet smile I see when he's happy or excited about something. So I have to be sneaky and get a picture when he's not expecting one. That, or bribe and beg him.
So imagine my surprize last night when Jake climbed into the laundry basket to watch T.V. and he didn't move when I got out my camera. I said, "Jake, look at me and smile." AND HE DID. I was shocked. Then he said "Take? 'Gin?" He wanted me to take his picture again! And he smiled sweetly again! I'm not sure what in the world is going on with this kid, but I hope it lasts!!!

Oh My! now THAT is a GREAT pic! I want to kiss and hug him! :) That is way better than my snot and laundry pics from the other day!

thank you so much, everyone, for your sweet comments. He really does have my eyes, and I love that about him. No matter how much he changes, I will always have that connection to him. Sometimes I look at him and feel so lucky to have a little version of me -- even if it's a male version! ;o)
