The bad thing about my blog is that I post every day so I always think I can just talk about something the NEXT day . . . and then I never do. Thinking back over the fall, I realize I never wrote about . . .
Jake's birthday party with Lou's family (Sept. 25th), Lou's birthday party with his family (Oct. 23rd -- he has the same birthday as Uncle Roger, so we always get together), the party my Sunday School class had on Nov. 19th (fun!!!), or the "Needle Nuts" group I went to on Nov. 20th (a group of ladies from my church who get together once a month to knit and talk, then have lunch. I bring my cross-stich. Everyone there has kids or grandkids my age, it's so fun to get to know them.) These are just a few things I've left out. We went to a party for Lou's Uncle Roger and Aunt Julie's 25th wedding anniversary last Friday (Dec. 3rd) and it was a lot of fun. I'm hoping to get copies of pictures eventually (I didn't bring my camera, for once!!!) and I will write about it then. Hopefully. Some events, like the birthday parties, I know I will document in Jake's scrapbook, so it's ok, I guess, that I left it out -- but I hate that I keep forgetting to write about things! This blog is partially to amuse people who stop by and to keep up with them, but my main purpose is to document our lives in lieu of a paper journal ('cause really, who has time for THAT?)
I spent some time today copying and pasting once and for all my iP diaries (I had it caught up through this past summer) and then I took the plunge and closed my Toddlers Today diary. For some reason I couldn't bring myself to close it -- iP was my first experience with Internet diaries, and where I met Kelly, Sue, and everyone else. I was just having a hard time saying goodbye. Total in my Word document I have 123 pages (of 12 point type!!!) I am very glad that I kept those diaries and that I have all my thoughts and feelings about Jake's first two years. I just wish I hadn't waited until he was 9 months old to start!!! I know that I will treasure it for the rest of my life, and hopefully someday Jake will enjoy it and care about not just what he was like as a baby, but what my life was like as I adjusted to motherhood.
Now to figure out how to archive my blog for offline . . .
