Like, really really. I know I have a lot to learn and I need a better camera yada yada but I love photography so much. I love taking pictures, I love trying to capture someone's personality in a photo, I love the look on a parent's face when I hand them a picture of their child that is better than they had imagined it could be. (This first one is my favorite out of the 53 I took on Friday of Aowyn.)
I'm so thankful that Priscilla lets me practice on her kids, especially her newborn. I bought 2 yards of black fleece for a kind of backdrop blanket, and Priscilla put up with me moving and positioning her baby around, and taking the paci out of her mouth for pics (and making her pretty mad in the process.) We even took some naked baby pics and then put her in a dressy outfit. She's such a beautiful baby. But dude, photographing babies is hard! (these pics open up bigger if you click on them.)
Hi Jen -- what a beautiful baby..you captured wonderful expressions.
My advice to people on doing what they want to do is...take life by the horns and just run with it! ;-)
Blessings~!

Those are beautiful photos, Jen - you are so talented and creative, I know you will fulfil your dreams one day. Priscilla must be THRILLED with those pics.

Those student loans really are a bitch, huh? You know, if you go back to school, you can defer the loans, right? ;-)
I've spent some time contemplating my degrees lately. If I had known we were going to move home, where there is nothing in horticulture, I might have gone into another field. And the two that come to mind most often are food & nutrition and photography. I love taking pictures, too! You really are good at it, Jen, and I know you'd do great if that's what you decided to do.

I'm the same way. I don't have the equiptment or knowledge to take professional pictures, but I would SO love to do it. I always say I'm going to take photography classes and I never do. I really should just do it.
By the way, your scrapbook pages are amazing! I love scrapbooking, but yours blow mine out of the water! Great job!

Thank you all for your support and your encouragement as I try to figure out what the hell I'm doing with my life. Sometimes I just need a little affirmation and love, and you guys always come through for me.
Rockstar Mommy -- I took a photography class in high school and I loved it. Scrapbooking is something that I'm slowly getting better at -- I read scrapbooking mags like there's no tomorrow, and I spend SO much time at TwoPeas looking at other people's layouts for inspiration. I can tell I've gotten so much better just in the past year, so that gives me hope (and should give everyone else hope, too!!!)

That last one is inspired! OMG so cute. Just keep practicing and learning...the opportunity will arise for you to make it a business. Maybe offer to photograph birthdays and other special occasions on the weekends for a small fee. Or do holiday photos really cheap and start building a clientele. Little by little.
I love taking pictures too but I'm too chicken sh*t to take the plunge and try to do it for a living.
Just think of these freebies as building a portfolio... :)
