I picked Evie up from school on Wednesday like I always do, and she had forgotten her piano books. We drove to her house to pick them up, but neither of us could get the spare key to work! (we ended up sight-reading out of a spare piano book I had with me. We actually had a nice lesson.)
Anyway, while trying unsuccessfully to get in the house, I noticed Evie's tree swing and the light for that part of the day was perfect, and I had my digital camera with me, so I couldn't resist telling her to hop on her swing and snapping a few pictures before we went to church for our lesson.
I can't wait to use them in a scrapbooking layout! Her parents are going to think I'm soooo cool, right? They already love my photography, and I've been wanting to take new pics of Ev for quite a while now. I can't believe how grown up she is now -- I started watching her when she was 18 months old, and now she's 8!
Just wanted to pop over and say hi. Jake, as always, is completely darling! Your scrapbook lay-outs rock, and if I could manage to squeeze a few more hours into the day, I'd love to try my hand at it. It sounds like you're a great piano teacher. Maybe if you would've been my teacher, I would've stuck w/ it! I took lessons for 2 years, but could never prove it.
BTW, I think I had those very same glasses in the early 90's!!!! :-)

JenA! So good to hear from you! I was just wondering how you're doing! How's Evelyn?!!!
I TRY to be a good piano teacher, but I'm good at certain things like teaching beginners the basics (a lot of people don't have the patience for that), teaching the kids to love music, having a positive, affirming attitude with them . . . but there are a lot of things I'm NOT so good at. Like keeping up with new music releases and teaching improvisation (can't do that to save my life), and advanced stuff -- well that's just beyound me! But I do the best I can. It's all good!!!
Thanks for coming by, hon.

That is neat you still teach piano. I remember taking lessons until about 8 or 9 or something like that. Most is self taught and I would be better if I had a piano to practice on instead of a keyboard my boys nearly demolish every time I bring it out.
You are great with a camera! I love to take photographs especially now that I have a digital Kodak DX4330. Make A wish bought it for us when they granted Sean's wish. I take it everywhere with me for any photo op. My boys LOVE to have their photo taken and then see it on the screen.
Evie is a very cute girl! She is so blessed to have you in her life for so long! The photos you took of her are great! I wish you were here to do our family Photo.
keep up the great job!! I am also a paper and scissor person, but I don't have much time for it.
