Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I really can't even explain to you how much Jake loves these books.  He carries the current one around with him everywhere he goes.  I'm so proud that he's reading a chapter book on his own (even if it *is* illustrated.)

I made this page for the September blog challenge for Eva Kipler Designs.  For the challenge we lifted Heidi (scrappurple) - check out her gallery here  To the right is the page I "lifted."  I really like having a starting-place laid out for me, so I love lifts.  It's obvious looking at the layouts that I changed it up and made it my own - but also obvious the ways I drew inspiration.

1982

Last week Eva released a retro-colored kit, so I went digging for old pictures.  Had to round the corners of the photos, because ALL our photos from that era have rounded corners. :)

Grandma Album

After my grandmother died in 2001, and then her mother died in 2002, my uncle ended up with most of the family's old pictures.  During one trip to visit him, we found all sorts of old family pictures I had never seen before.  We took them to Kinko's for quick copies and then I scanned those copies at home.

Shabby Princess' "Olivia" piece-a-cake album has been great for getting all these photos in a presentable fashion.  Here is a small sample of what I put together.

The baby in these photos is my mother, at 5 months old.  Her mom, Ellen, was 15 in these pictures.  My mom is the first of 8 kids.

Here is my grandmother as a small child.  She's standing with her mother, Lurena, and her mother's sister Ada.  The couple in the next image is my grandmother's parents.

Ok, the first layouts in this post were of my grandma and her first child -- this is grandma pregnant with her 8th and last child (this was like 18 years later.)  Her older 3 kids were living with their dad, but here she is with the others.

I've been going through my old computer files and found some stuff I never did post here.  It's from like 5 years ago.  Genius.

ANYWAY.  Here is a quick album made with a Shabby Princess Piece A Cake album - those albums are the greatest thing going in the digital scrapbooking world, and you can quote me on that.  :)
