Sharing my latest project

Jake asks a lot of questions lately about things like time, days, miles, etc.  And we talk a lot about seasons and holidays and months.  And as always, I have been thinking of a way to visually explain it to him.

Well for the longest time, whenever I thought of a year calendar, I would see it in my head in the form of a clock, but going counter clockwise.  Don't ask me why, this this just what makes sense to me -- it kind of reads left to right in a circle, if you think about it.

Anyway, today I made this (from scratch!) in Photoshop, and I'm going to have it printed at Winkflash as a 16x20 poster.

Hello?

It's hard to explain how frustrating it is to have a child who won't talk to you on the phone.  Until pretty recently, Jake wouldn't talk to ANYONE on the phone, beyond hello, goodbye, and nodding.  (Can't hear the rocks in your brain, buddy.)  But Jake has out of nowhere developed a love for the phone, to the point he runs to answer it and will bother me until I let him talk.  This is a VERY awesome development.

For this layout, I used Anita Stergiou's "Sketch Plate 5" template and replaced the flowers with stars.

My life in pictures, EOL

I'm on an album kick lately, can you tell?

So the past few weeks in whatever pockets of free time I have found, I've been working on a pretty indulgent scrapbook album.  It's all about me.  It's called Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life, it's a challenge that I am doing with some people from DigiShopTalk.  I have all my alphabet pages posted -- ALL of my EOL pages are here, if you want to see -- but I ended up with a lot of pictures I didn't get to use.  So I made a photo appendix to the end of the book -- a 16 page-long overview of me in the last 28 years.  (Hey, I already warned you it is a self-indulgent project!!!)

So if you're looking for a way to squeeze a TON of pictures onto a layout, have I got something for YOU to look at!
