I am so in agreement with you. Our daughter does have APD and her life is tremendously challenging. Interestingly enough, the place where we experienced a total lack of understanding and and continued committment to ignorance was at the parochial school she attended. A school attached to our church and relationships we had with people for years. We withdrew our daughter and enrolled her in public school and she has blossomed. They know it, get it, and continue to educate themselves about apd. It is still relatively unknown even though the dx has been around for decades. It just doesn't get enough exposure. Let's hope this book provides some insight for the general public.
